Take a look at the Life Magazine article about the Blizzard of 1949.  Over 270 people got stranded in the Union Pacific’s City of San Francisco train!  They managed to get themselves into the Hotel and the rest of the story……go to History and look at the pictures about the Blizzard!!  Amazing times!

If you haven’t seen the new edition to the History part of this website, GO NOW!!  Steven Worker did an awesome job gathering the history, typing it up, scanning in pictures and then creating the web-pages….THANKS A BUNCH!  Every time I read the history of this beautiful building, I learn more and more.  How can anyone not fall in love with this magnificent Hotel?!  Having the support, time and effort from so many people in this “project” in so many different areas is how this whole project will come to fruition!! What an amazing journey this is turning out to be.
